One of the central objectives of SCPLRC is to foster and promote the professional development of its members. To ensure members are current with legislative, legal, and labor relations trends, SCPLRC sponsors a number of workshops and programs during the year.
SCPLRC offers specialized training on areas that impact employee and labor relations. Topics are selected to meet the changing needs of the Human Resources profession and provide timely and relevant information on current issues. Workshops address areas such as labor relations, employee relations, health care reform, managing leaves, and pension reform.
Following the presentation, networking opportunities are available while enjoying a complimentary lunch. Thereafter, SCPLRC facilitates a round table discussion, whereby agencies share information regarding the status of negotiations and other important and timely employee relations issues.
Annual Labor Relations Conference:
The SCPLRC Annual Conference is an intensive one day training session. The low cost, one day event allows members to choose from a variety of workshops to meet their professional needs. The sessions provide information for members new to the Human Resources field as well as the seasoned professional. Held each February, the conference provides a forum for members to connect and gain insight in the dynamic field of human resources as they learn from the experts and each other.
